Modern workplace. Locked down.

IT Administrator · Modern Workplace & Security

Six-plus years in IT ops and Microsoft 365. Hands-on with Intune for 1+ year, going deeper into Entra ID, Purview, Defender, and security — calm ops preferred.

What I fix

Plain problems a sole IT admin actually sees — and what I do about them.

  • Lost or unmanaged laptops

I enrol devices properly, push the basics, and make sure a missing machine is lockable and wipeable — not a mystery asset on a spreadsheet.

  • Messy permissions & access

I tidy who can open what, prefer groups over one-off grants, and leave a trail so the next change is boring instead of scary.

  • Phishing clicks

I harden the obvious doors, walk people through what a bad mail looks like, and keep the cleanup calm when someone does click.

  • Scattered support requests

I built an internal ticketing system so daily support has one place to land — clearer queues, less chasing, requests stay organised.

  • Intune from scratch

Built my company's Intune setup from scratch: enrolment, compliance and app deployment.

  • Joiners and leavers

Built an onboarding and offboarding request form in Microsoft Forms for HR, so accounts and devices are ready before day one.

About

Weng Hong CHOO is an IT administrator with 6+ years' experience in modern workplace and security.

I keep endpoints, identity, and collaboration tools healthy so people can work. Most of that has been general IT operations and Microsoft 365 administration — including hands-on Intune for over a year.

I'm going deeper into the modern workplace stack — Intune, Entra ID, Purview, Defender — and learning security as I go. Still early on the security side. Still reading more than I write.

I like clear docs, calm incident handling, and leaving the next person a slightly better trail than I found.

Auto-dating PDFs with an Acrobat dynamic stamp

A user needed name and today’s date on dozens of PDFs daily. An Acrobat custom stamp with a short JavaScript field fixed it.

Documentation is boring — until you need it

As a sole IT admin, I keep learning why SOPs and notes matter: fewer repeated outages, less key-person risk, clearer handovers.

Adobe Express Photos appeared on a managed PC via Acrobat’s update path. How I investigated it in Intune and blocked it going forward.
